Foreign Rulers of Ancient Egypt





In 1070bc Egypt broke up into a number of small kingdoms. In 728bc these rulers were conquered by King Piy of Nubia. The Nubians ruled Egypt until they were ousted by the Assyrians, who were followed by the Persians. In 405bc Egypt regained some independence within the Persian Empire under the 29th and then the 30th dynasties.
